neat blog, cute story about the cat. It's always an adventure when dealing with felines.
Keep up the great work!
I did a lot of running around today. WE wasn't feeling good this morning. He didn't sleep well this weekend with his sore arm and the codine he was taking made him nauseous, so we just let him stay home. I brought the other three to school/bus stops, then came home to eat a quick breakfast before catching Chloe to take her to the vet. I learned my lesson last time and kept the outside door closed so she couldn't get outside and disappear again like she did last time. After I dropped her off to get spayed, I went home and made some phone calls. One of the problems with living out here is that the time zone thing makes it so if you want to do any business on the mainland, it has to be done in the morning, or early afternoon if it's on the west coast. Too often, I get caught up in doing morning stuff and forget all about those kinds of phone calls until after lunch, then it's too late and I have to wait until the next day.
I called the doctor to make an appointment for WE to get his cast put on. I forgot to ask them the all important question when I made the appointment, so WE called them back to ask if he could get a green cast. He was disappointed to learn that the closest they could come was a dark blue one. They told me I needed to pick up his x-rays from the hospital and since I would be half-way there already when I got Chloe at the vets office, I decided to just grab them right away this afternoon. Chloe made it through her operation just fine, though she wasn't real happy to be left at the vets office.
This evening,
#1 and I had to go to the high school for the driver's ed lottery. Driver's Ed is a before school class and there are only 30 openings each semester. If more than 30 kids want to be in it, they have a lottery and pull names for lucky participants. 34 kids showed up, so 4 got left out in the cold. I was relieved that #1 wasn't one of them. Driver's ed through the school cost $10, private lessons, which is what we were going to do if he didn't get picked, are over $400. Do the math. So, starting October 14, he has to be to school by 7am for the class. Kind of early for my taste, but you do what you gotta do, especially when it saves you $400. I told him if he fails, he's paying for private lessons himself. He's a good responsible driver, I think he'll do great.
